Located adjacent to the Carlisle Lake District Airport in Cumbria, the Solway Aviation Museum is an independently run aircraft museum, staffed by unpaid volunteers from the Solway Aviation Society.
The aircraft collection is primarily based on post war jets that entered service with the RAF during the 1950's and 1960's. The Avro Vulcan is one such aircraft and the museum is one of the few places where one can climb up into the cockpit and rear crew area of this iconic aircraft.
