English Electric Lightning F.53 (ZF583). Delivered from Warton to Jeddah in 1968 by T.M.S. Ferguson under ‘Project Magic Palm’. ZF583 was operated by 6 Sqn and 2 Sqn of the Royal Saudi Air Force till 1986, before being returned to the U.K. in a buy-back deal against the sale of the Panavia Tornado. The aircraft totalled 1884.4 flying hours in 1872 flights.
