Westland Wessex HU.5 (XS507 ‘710’). Developed as a battlefield transportation helicopter. The type was deployed on the Navy's amphibious assault vessels and used to transport Royal Marines and equipment. During the 1970s the HU.5 also started to be used for SAR.
