Hawker P.1127 (XP831). The first prototype V/STOL experimental aircraft, which on the 19th November 1960 achieved the first un‑tethered free‑flight hover. The type developed into the Kestrel and the Harrier, the latter being the world's first operational vertical, take‑off and landing (VTOL) jet fighter.
