Supermarine Spitfire Mk.1a (P9444 ‘RN‑D’). This airframe saw combat in the Battle of Britain, but in July of 1940 P/O Elliot passed out through lack of oxygen and the aircraft crash landed. Though repaired it never flew operationally again.
